The Dive World Divemaster Program isn’t just a course — it’s a true internship, tailored to your lifestyle and diving goals. Whether you’re working full-time or balancing other commitments, your personalized training schedule is built to work with you — not against you. Most of our Divemaster candidates train on weekends and evenings, making it easy to dive into a new chapter without putting your life on hold.

While the program requires a minimum of 14 training days, we encourage you to join us as often as possible throughout the season. The more time you spend in the water, the more confident and capable you’ll become.

Go Beyond the Basics

Great Divemasters do more than guide dives — they lead by example across every area of the sport. At Dive World, you’ll gain hands-on experience in a wide variety of environments and gear configurations.

From full face masks to sidemount systems, you’ll be exposed to advanced equipment and real leadership scenarios. Assist courses, manage divers in local training lakes, and take part in expeditions to iconic wreck sites in Tobermory and Brockville — all while building your confidence and refining your skills.

Of course, you’ll also complete the full PADI Divemaster curriculum, including dive theory, watermanship, and practical leadership training.

Mentorship That Matters

You won’t be going it alone. As a Dive World Divemaster Trainee, you’ll be mentored directly by two of Canada’s most respected diving professionals:

• Mario is one of the most experienced active-status PADI Instructors in North America, known for his technical expertise and steadfast commitment to diver development. With thousands of dives in diverse and demanding environments—including wrecks, deep cold-water sites, and complex training scenarios—he brings a structured, precision-focused approach to instruction. His mentorship empowers divers to build confidence through discipline, consistency, and a strong foundation in core diving competencies.

• Mareesha is one of the most prolific PADI Instructors in North America, combining deep technical expertise with an exceptional breadth of real-world diving experience. In addition to her extensive background in recreational and technical diving, she is also a certified commercial diver and professional underwater stunt performer. With thousands of dives across challenging environments—from cold-water wrecks to controlled stunt sets—she brings a high-performance, detail-driven approach to every training session. Mareesha’s mentorship pushes divers to develop sharp technical skills, mental resilience, and total confidence in the water.

Together, they’ll help shape your journey, challenge you to grow, and ensure you leave the program ready to lead with confidence.
